Statement of Interest (1st Choice)

Nearly a decade of uninterrupted service in the brotherhood, experience as a certified public accountant, and former employee of a prestigious, global accounting firm are all lived experiences which would make me a valuable contributor to the financial audit committee. As an active member of Tau chapter, I was elected treasurer from 2014-2016. During my tenure as treasurer, the chapter stayed in compliance with headquarters, and I received internal training to better govern the fiscal responsibilities of the chapter. As a certified public accountant, I am well versed in Georgia law and can use my knowledge to make recommendations on how to streamline fiduciary operations for the state. Having earned a Master of Taxation from Georgia State University, I am equipped with the theoretical framework coupled with the appropriate application of taxation and accounting policies to aid in a successful audit process for the fraternity and create sustainable solutions for expediting current procedures. I have demonstrated both in my career and service within the fraternity to be an ethical worker of high moral character who prides myself on being detail-oriented, deadline driven, results focused and working collectively for the greater good of the brotherhood. My desire to serve on the financial audit team is to sustain the policies and procedures of the fraternity while ensuring our fiscal practices maintain the integrity of our beloved fraternity.
