Omegas Earn MBAs and Visit Russia
Lambda Phi Chapter proudly recognizes the accomplishments of Brothers Craig B. Jackson, and Mantrell Blount of Macon, Georgia who have successfully earned the Executive M.B.A. degrees from Wesleyan College. Their academic experience was unique in that (1) Wesleyan College had a tradition of being a college for women and (2) the Executive M.B.A. degree program a study abroad component which required the two brothers and their cohorts to travel to Ulyanovsk in Russia.
The study abroad component afforded the brothers dynamic opportunities to observe cultural traditions, business practices, economic disparities, language barriers, demographic factors, weather, and the academic environment at a university in Ulyanovsk.
Brother Jackson is the dedicated Basileus of the distinguished Lambda Phi Chapter in Macon, Georgia and serves as the Director of Scholarship on the State Council. He is currently employed at Macon State College as an Admission Representative/Recruiter for the past five years. His ambition is to become an entrepreneur and test his newly acquired knowledge in marketing and management.
Brother Blount is a member of Lambda Phi and is currently employed at Dynamic Educational Systems as a Job Corps Admissions Counselor. He also is eager to implement his knowledge in management.
Both brothers have demonstrated the four cardinal principles of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.: Manhood as they exhibited the positive characteristics of Omega men who are challenged to accept the responsibility of making the world better through attaining more education while remaining true to ourselves, our families, and our country. Scholarship as they matriculated and maintained excellent grade point averages; Perseverance as they steadfastly tackled the courses successfully and graduated with the class of 2004; Uplift as they networked with each other to ensure the success of both brothers. After nearly two weeks in Russia, both brothers reported how excited they were to return to America because living in Russia enlightened the two about the hardships encountered by people in other countries which seem to be even more drastic than the hardships in the United States.
